    Abstract

Exceptional soft-tissue preservation in fluvial environments remains poorly constrained due to the dynamic nature of river systems. This study integrates lithofacies analysis, facies associations, and stratigraphic mapping from the Upper Cretaceous Dinosaur Park Formation (Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta) to evaluate how point-bar architecture, sedimentary processes, and stratigraphic position may influence the preservation of fossil skin. Results suggest that preservation is stratigraphically clustered and potentially linked to localized depositional conditions within migrating fluvial channel belts.
