Abstract
Pyrocumulonimbus (pyroCb) clouds are fire-induced thunderstorms triggered by intense wildfires. While capable of injecting large quantities of smoke into the atmosphere, creating hazardous condtions for firefighters, and threatening the intensification and ignition of new wildfires, very little literature exists on pyroCbs. This study analyzes pyroCb events across western Canada during the 2025 wildfire season to better understand the environmental condtions that preceede their formation and to characterize the lightning produced.Poster
